How does Ascend auto populate a member’s Federal and State Legislators and Districts?

Ascend uses available zip code and address data on the member to determine their Federal Reps and District and State Reps and Districts. To determine some of this data, Ascend will need full address and zip code data in most cases to determine a match. However, there are some cases (such as a zip code fitting squarely into a District) where Ascend does not need full address data to determine a match.

Ascend will not populate these fields if a member’s location data is insufficient to determine an exact match.

Can I filter for Representatives and Districts?

Yes! Ascend makes this data filterable in the Inbox and Members List. Add filters using the following fields:

Federal Representative

‍Federal Senator

Tip: To filter for matches to a Senator or Representative, search by first name, last name and select from the available matches. Only existing matches in your list will be selectable values.

How often is Member district and State/Federal legislative data updated?‍

Updates are made nightly. Please allow 24 hours for district data to populate when address/zip code data is added or updated on a member record. Want your members to be updated in real time when address data is collected? Reach out to help@ascendmessaging.org
